In 1898 Joshua Slocum completed the first solo circumnavigation of the earth. His voyage in his thirty-six foot sailboat Spray is still considered to be one of the greatest nautical feats of all time—and this, his first-person account of the voyage, is one of the all-time classics of adventure literature.
During his three-year, 46,000 mile journey, Slocum faces the kinds of trials you might expect—storms, monster waves, dangerous shoals, powerful currents, and more.
