Four strangers, each enchanted by an advertisement addressed “To Those who Appreciate Wistaria and Sunshine,” impulsively pool their savings to lease a medieval Italian castle for the month of April. Later adapted into an Academy Award-nominated film, The Enchanted April was an instant bestseller upon its publication in 1922.
